Tartan

Further information on the Hay and Leith Tartan can be obtained from the Scottish Register of Tartans.

The original version Wilson’s of Bannockburn dates to 1819 and is reportedly the oldest of the Hay Tartans. STA Refs 1215 and 2013 are also displayed at the Register.

These pages provide information on the Leith and later Leith-Hay family of Leith Hall. The site is intended as a historical record on the family.

From the beginning the purpose of this site is also to provide a complete picture of this Scot’s family and it’s history. It is also a search on one’s own past and of a family that has in some ways been forgotten, yet yields rich material and a colourful story up to the present day.
